What is HolStrength40?

A comprehensive 40-day challenge designed to push your limits and help you build a well balanced life spiritually, physically, and nutritionally. Whether you are just beginning your walk of faith or have been disciplined in these areas for years, the goal is simple. Show up daily with intention and grow one step at a time.

Why 40 days?

The number 40 appears many times throughout the Bible and is often connected to preparation, testing, and transformation. Jesus fasted for 40 days in the wilderness before beginning His ministry, Moses spent 40 days on Mount Sinai seeking God (to name a few). Again and again, 40 represents a period of focus that leads to change. It is long enough to challenge you, but structured enough to create real momentum.

HolStrength40 follows that same pattern. This is a season of preparation. A time to remove distractions, build consistency, and develop habits that carry beyond the challenge itself. Start where you are. Commit fully. Finish stronger.

Daily Requirements

1

10 Minute Bible/Devotional

Start your day grounded in truth. Even a few focused minutes in Scripture builds consistency, clarity, and spiritual strength that carries into everything else you do.

2

5 Minute Intentional Prayer Time

Set aside time to be fully present with God. Not rushed, not distracted. Just intentional conversation, gratitude, and surrender to align your heart for the day ahead.

3

One Gallon of Water

Hydration fuels everything your body does. Just as you nourish your spirit daily, your body needs consistent hydration to perform, recover, and function at its best.

4

40 Minute Workout

Train with purpose every day. Movement builds strength, discipline, and resilience, reminding you that caring for your body is part of stewarding what God has given you.

5

No Cheat Meals/Strict Diet

Commit to consistency in what you consume. Discipline in nutrition builds self control, supports your goals, and reinforces the habits that create lasting change.

6

Track Progress

Measure what matters. Tracking keeps you accountable, reveals growth over time, and reminds you that small daily actions lead to meaningful transformation.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. You can start anytime and a lot of our community will do this several times a year. Feb 23 is our community start date planned intentionally during the Lent Season. You can extend this challenge, or start at anytime throughout the year!

Be honest. Restart the count or keep going and mark it. This isn’t about shame it’s about discipline and building lifelong habits! Your first time through, just mark the days you missed. Then each time you try the challenge again, try to limit the amount of days missed.

This depends on your individual situation. Some of us have never read through the bible, while others have read every devotional book there is. Challenge yourself to go beyond whatever level you are currently at.

No. Consult with a professional if you have specific dietary restrictions/health concerns. An example diet could be cutting out sugar, no takeout/fast food, no alcohol, etc. For some weight loss may be a goal, while others are working on building muscle.

A burning desire to chase after God! In all seriousness, just a positive attitude can go a long way. You don't need to buy any supplements, expensive meal plans, equipment, or even a gym membership. A run/walk and bodyweight exercises like pushups and situps is an excellent start. Food wise, if you don't know where to start just start cutting out one thing a day you know is not good for you! Grab a friend to hold you accountable.
