Holy Thursday Devotional
“If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet. For I have given you an example, that you also should do just as I have done to you.”
- John 13:14–15
Holy Thursday marks a turning point. It's the night of the Last Supper, where Jesus shared bread and wine with His disciples, saying, “This is my body… This is my blood.” In that upper room, He didn’t just predict His death — He framed it as a covenant of love. Then, He did something no one expected: He got down on His knees and washed their feet. The Son of God became the servant of all.
This moment is more than humility. It’s Jesus showing us what real love looks like: not just spoken, but lived. He knew Judas would betray Him. He knew Peter would deny Him. Yet He washed their feet anyway. After the meal, He led His disciples into the dark garden of Gethsemane, where He would pray in anguish and surrender His will to the Father.
Holy Thursday calls us to remember — but also to reflect. The table, the towel, and the tears in the garden all point to the kind of faith that costs something. Jesus invites us to the same path: humble service, sacrificial love, and full surrender. It’s not just about remembering what He did — it’s about following His example.
Prayer: Jesus, tonight I remember not just what You said, but what You did. You loved through the meal, through the basin, and even through the pain. Teach me to live like that — to serve others with humility, to forgive with grace, and to trust the Father even when it’s hard. Amen.

Thank you, Jesus for thinking of me during this difficult time. You died for me and I will serve and live for you. I am requesting the prayers of my brothers and sisters. Intercede on my behalf with our Father.

Beautiful message. Jesus sacrificed for us. Our small sacrifices every day do no measure. How are we be worthy of such a great love? What a wonderful God we serve.
