Courage in God's Presence: Deuteronomy 31:6
"Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you."
- Deuteronomy 31:6
This verse is part of Moses’ final words to the Israelites before they enter the Promised Land. In Deuteronomy 31, Moses is 120 years old and is preparing to pass leadership to Joshua, as he will not enter the land himself. Moses encourages the people to trust in God’s faithfulness as they face the challenges of conquering the land.
In Deuteronomy 31:6, we find a message of courage rooted in God’s faithfulness. The Israelites were about to face daunting battles and unfamiliar challenges. It would be easy to give in to fear or feel abandoned in the face of difficulty. But Moses points them to a truth greater than their circumstances: God will go with them.
God doesn’t command us to be strong and courageous without providing the foundation for that strength and courage. The Israelites’ fear wasn’t misplaced—they were about to face real enemies with real power. But God’s message to them was clear: "Do not fear, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you." Their confidence wasn’t to be in the absence of danger, but in the presence of God.
We often face our own "Promised Land" moments—transitions, uncertainties, or fears about the future. Maybe it’s a change in job, family dynamics, health issues, or a new challenge. Like the Israelites, we might feel unequipped or anxious, uncertain about the road ahead. But God’s words through Moses resonate today just as they did then: “Do not fear... for the Lord your God goes with you.”
Prayer for the Week
Lord, thank You for the promise of Your presence. When I face challenges and fear, remind me that I can be strong and courageous because You go before me. Help me to trust in Your unfailing love and power, knowing that You will never leave or forsake me. Amen.

Facing a RIF in the aerospace industry due to Govt funding and the on-going continuing resolution madness. God’s word through Deuteronomy 31:6 is perfect timing. While I face uncertain times in our industry, my prayer is for the men and women that I served that have received the same fate earlier. I pray for Gods Holy Spirit through Christ Jesus to help me find positions for my team members so they can continue employment and more importantly, to have courage in God’s presence before I have to leave my contract. God bless and aloha

Thanks for this reminder. As I face termination from a career of 19 yrs in fire service and now negotiations want to strip me of everything I’ve worked for and demote me I know I need to trust in my God to continue to provide for me and my two children. I pray for all those others on here that commented on their struggles right now. At least we all have the hope and knowledge of what we get to enjoy when we are finally reunited with Christ. No more suffering or pain or sorrow but ultimate joy. May you all be blessed by this assurance and may the peace and joy of Christ fill us all in this current life we live in as well. God bless you all. In Jesus mighty name. Amen

I’m having a rough session and the past 9 months it has been tough since I lost my only blood brother. I did not lose my hope or faith and God even provided when I didn’t expect it. He is our maintain and our refuge. Lean on him when times comes, lean on him when things don’t make sense and lean on him when you feel stuck. This message was a good one I like it and good description to us Moses

The lord will fight for you, you need only to be still. Exodus 14:14
God parted the red seas and drew demons out of people, he healed the sick and sacrificed his only son for our sins. He is the father of miracles. Everyday we receive is a miracle and he will prevail once again. It’s a process and we have to continue to stay faithful no matter how our circumstances look. God is a supernatural being and he works in the supernatural before he works in the natural. You can’t, but REMEMBER, GOD CAN!! God is good!!!!

I needed this today. This Monday has been possibly one of the worst days of my life. I needed this for strength. I will give this over to God and let him handle this situation for me.
