Rest In God's Provision and Care: Psalm 23:1
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want."
- Psalm 23:1
Psalm 23:1 reminds us of a fundamental truth: God provides everything we need. In a world where we are constantly driven by desires and the pursuit of "more," this verse calls us to a place of contentment and trust. When David says, "I shall not want," he isn’t claiming that he has everything he desires but rather that he lacks nothing essential because the Lord, as his shepherd, meets all his needs.
Just as a shepherd leads his flock to green pastures and still waters, God leads us to what we need both physically and spiritually. There may be times in life when circumstances make us feel as though we are in want—perhaps facing uncertainty, loss, or lack. Yet, this psalm invites us to remember that God knows what is best for us, and He is ever-present, leading and caring for us.
Reflect on areas of your life where you might be experiencing discontentment or anxiety. Trust that your Shepherd sees your needs and is actively working on your behalf. You may not always understand the path He leads you on, but you can trust in His goodness.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You for being my Shepherd. Help me to trust You fully, knowing that You provide everything I truly need. When I am tempted to worry or feel anxious about the future, remind me that You are always with me, guiding me and protecting me. I place my life in Your hands. Amen.

My word for this year from You is provide & You have over and abundantly. You have met my needs & exceeded them. For Your will is perfect and You know the best course of action. Please keep us in your prayers for our home, family, and marriage. My husband and I keep praying to have our own little home soon for our beautiful kiddos and to continue to grow a strong marriage and family as God continues to be the center of our marriage and family. Thank you. God bless you all ✝️

Satan is so good at making us feel like we are lacking or need more because we take our eyes off of Jesus and focus on worldly pursuits. Thank you for the reminder that God is sufficient for all of our needs. We just have to seek and trust Him.
