Established Work - Psalm 90:17
“Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us, and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, establish the work of our hands.”
- Psalm 90:17
Moses prayed these words knowing how easily human effort fades. He had seen entire seasons of work rise and collapse, and he understood that nothing lasts unless God gives it strength. When he asks God to establish the work of his hands, he is asking for something more permanent than progress. He wants God to give his labor real substance.
The verse becomes even more meaningful when you consider how Moses ties endurance to the favor of God. The favor he describes is the steady influence of God’s presence, the kind that shapes not only what you do but how you do it. Work gains depth when God’s character rests on it, not when you push harder or chase visible results.
This is where the verse speaks to you this week. It invites you to pay attention to the foundation of your effort, not just the pace of it. It encourages you to notice where your work needs more intention, more honesty, or more patience. God establishes what you consistently offer Him, not what you rush through or avoid.
As you start this week, let this verse remind you that meaningful work is not defined by attention or speed. It is defined by whether God is shaping it and giving it weight that lasts.
Prayer: Lord, place Your favor on my work this week. Give it strength beyond my ability and depth beyond my intentions. Establish what I offer You, steady my steps, and let my effort carry Your presence. Amen.

I took industrial engineering at a tech school. The lessons I learned ( motion and time study etc. ) helped me throughout my whole work career. But the greatest help was when I called on Jesus to help me with everyday problems. I believe that we should always work as if someone is watching ( God is and he knows our motives ). Now I am retired and still pray throughout everyday. Life is a struggle.

Let God work in you; He always works in the silence and is always with us, even when we feel stressed or worried, he knows what we need and calls us to trust him, even when we can not see him, he is within us. The world will never satisfy us, we need God and he brings every work to completion in his perfect timing.
