Pursuit vs. Patience - Proverbs 16:9
“The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

We often hear the phrase, “Wait on God.” And while waiting is a powerful act of trust, it’s not the same as standing still and doing nothing. In Scripture, waiting is rarely passive — it’s active, expectant, and paired with movement in faith.
God honors prayers, but He also honors pursuit. You can trust God’s timing and work hard in the meantime. Planning, building, applying, training — these are not signs of doubt. They’re signs of faith that believes God will meet you in motion.
Noah didn’t wait for the rain to start before building the ark. David trained with a sling long before facing Goliath. Esther prepared a plan before approaching the king. Faith doesn’t freeze — it moves forward with confidence that God is in control of the outcome.
But here’s the balance: you don’t chase results — you chase obedience. Your responsibility is the effort. God’s is the outcome.
So today, don’t just wait. Work, pray, trust, and rest — in rhythm. Take the next step, then let God direct where it leads.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust You enough to take action, and trust You enough to be patient with the process. I don’t want to move ahead of You, but I also don’t want to sit still in fear or doubt. Give me discernment to know when to move, when to wait, and how to walk by faith — not just with my words, but with my choices. Amen.

I’m 70 years old and I agree with Joseph. Although I have lived many years I am still confused sometimes as to what I should do. I always pray and know God, Jesus, Holy Spirit doesn’t want me to just sit back and put my feet up and wait for Their answer. But I also don’t want to get in the way of God. Praying for Liz to go full term and give birth to a beautiful baby (girl). I was a single Dad who raised a baby girl. Now she is 37 and making bad choices. Please pray for God to put a good Christian man in her life and please allow her to have a beautiful, full term baby girl too.. God’s will be done. Thank you for all your prayers.

It’s always hard for me, to discern certain things in my life. If I should or shouldn’t go which ever way. God is in control of my life, but sometimes, I feel like if I move ahead, I feel like I’m taking control back of my life.
Lord, help me with discernment in my life. When I’m not sure if I should or shouldn’t do something, I just pray you give my that push. In your name Jesus I pray, Amen
