When You’re Running on Empty: Isaiah 40:29
We’re nearing the midpoint of the year — and maybe it hasn’t gone how you hoped. You’ve faced one setback after another. The to-do list at work is endless. Your energy’s been spent on trying to fix things that keep falling apart. Maybe it’s your health, your finances, your motivation — or all of it at once.
You're not just tired. You're worn thin.
Isaiah 40:29 meets us right there:
“He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.”
It’s not a call to hustle harder — it’s an invitation to receive strength that doesn’t run out. When your strength hits zero, His supply is just beginning. You weren’t created to be unbreakable — you were created to rely on the One who is.
It’s okay to admit you’re tired. It’s okay to not have it all together. That moment of honesty might be the start of real renewal.
So if all you can do today is whisper a tired prayer — that’s enough. God is close to the weary. And He’s not asking for more from you — He’s offering more to you.
Pausing to reconnect with God may be the most productive thing you do this week.
Prayer: God, I don’t have much left in me. I’m discouraged, drained, and trying to hold it together. Thank You for promising to give strength when mine runs out. Meet me in this moment. Carry what I can’t. Renew my heart. Remind me that I’m not doing this alone. Amen.
