You’re Living What You Once Prayed For - 1 Samuel 1:27

“For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him.”

-1 Samuel 1:27

Sometimes we’re so focused on the next goal, the next blessing, the next breakthrough—we forget that what we have now is something we once begged God for.

In this verse, Hannah holds the son she prayed and wept for. She doesn’t rush past the moment. She names it. She gives God credit.

Maybe your current job, relationship, health, peace of mind, or community is something you once asked God for in desperation. And now… you're living in it. Don’t let the speed of life rob you of the chance to be grateful.

Gratitude grounds us. It turns what we have into enough and reminds us that God really does answer prayer—sometimes quietly, sometimes slowly, but always faithfully.

Prayer: Lord, slow me down enough to see how far You’ve brought me. Remind me of the things I once asked You for that are now a part of my everyday life. Don’t let me rush past Your faithfulness. Give me a heart that remembers and gives thanks.

It is so human to forget the wonderful things that God has done for us in the past. {Only one leper returned to thank Jesus for healing him.} But life goes on and more and more problems arise. I worry about my daughter, A.R., everyday. I know a Christian is not supposed to worry but I don’t know how to stop. I pray and fast everyday. Please pray for God to put a good Christian man in her life so she will feel complete and with this man’s influence she will return to church and to Christ. Adam needed a suitable helpmate and God gave him Eve. I needed a suitable helpmate and God gave me my Patty. Now I pray for God to please give my daughter a suitable helpmate. Thank you and God bless you.

What a beautiful reminder for today! We are in a constant hustle and bustle culture and its hard for us to slow down and remember who brought us to where we are today. God has given us many blessings- May we be reminded to find the beauty and graces in every day and focus on the Lord who has provided us the gifts and blessings that we have in our lives.

Please pray for Juanito, my son. He is depressed and does not know what is next. He is out of high school. He feels that he is not going to college and feels like a failure. He is looking for a job and has not gotten one. I ask for guidance, protection, good company, influence of friends, drugs, and alcohol. He is almost 18 years old. He feels like he is lost. Please ask for protection and that the LORD hovers over him and guides him to the right path. Thank you.

When You Stop Comparing, You Start Living

It’s easy to forget that God isn’t measuring you by someone else’s success. He’s looking at your heart — not your highlight reel. Stop coveting what isn’t yours and start living fully in what is.
