5th Sunday of Lent - John 12:24
“Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.”
- John 12:24
As Lent continues, the focus shifts from reflection to surrender.
In this verse, Jesus reveals a principle that runs through all of life. Growth does not happen by holding on. It happens by letting go. A seed has potential on its own, but it will never become what it was created to be unless it is first buried.
That process does not look like progress. It looks like loss. It looks like something being taken away. But in reality, it is the beginning of multiplication.
This is where many of us struggle. We want God to grow something new in our lives while still holding onto what is comfortable. We want discipline, but resist giving up the habits that weaken us. We want purpose, but avoid the cost that comes with it.
But both cannot exist at the same time.
There are things in every season that must be released in order for something greater to take root. Not because God is taking from you, but because He is preparing you.
What you surrender in obedience today becomes the fruit you walk in tomorrow.
Prayer: Lord, help me trust You in what I surrender. Give me the strength to let go of what is holding me back. Grow something greater in its place. Amen.

I let go two months ago and I have accepted that now I must let God work in my life. It took me 20 years to be this mature when letting go of someone and to have faith he will be replaced with a divine connection ❤️🙏🏻

I am holding on to a past love, that I cannot seem to let go. This scripture is giving me the strength to move on and let go of the past.
